This is a vacation retreat your family has always dreamed of -- nestled in an expansive valley only 10 minutes from the resort community of Pagosa Springs, Colorado. Your vacation at Mountain View Ranch will be a one-of-a-kind experience, allowing you all the privacy you desire with all the conveniences you deserve. Imagine waking up to majestic mountain peaks overlooking a private valley and sipping coffee on the deep back porch. Or grab a blanket and a glass of wine as you retreat to the porch for a spectacular mountain sunset. Off the porch is a patio with a fire pit where you can enjoy S’mores and hot chocolate while stargazing at the brightest night sky you’ve ever seen.
Views to the north reveal the San Juan range and Pagosa Peak with their spruce, fir, and aspen forests. Nature abounds here regardless of the season. We have seen Canada geese and mallard ducks on the pond with their babies, elk and deer, and even foxes diving into the snow for their breakfast all from the back porch! Enjoy the hummers and numerous other area birds at the feeders as well as red-tailed hawks and great blue herons. You may even glimpse a bald eagle or golden eagle as they soar above. All to be heard are the sounds of nature.
The single-story home is built with full logs of hand-drawn Canadian spruce and is nicely appointed with a spacious feel. With three bedrooms, two living areas and an impressive master suite, this is a retreat your friends and family will talk about for years to come. The living room boasts a picture-book view of the mountains and a stone fireplace with gas log starter. The main living area has an open design with a large dining table that seats eight. The recently updated kitchen has new granite countertops, new ledger stone backsplash, new sink and dishwasher, new cooktop, and new overhead lighting all installed in 2020. The large central island seats six. The master suite features a king-sized bed, walk-in closet, and a luxury bathroom with jetted soaking tub and tiled shower. French doors open from the master bedroom onto the back deck where you can enjoy a stunning view of the San Juan Range. and access the seven person spa. Each of the guest bedrooms have queen size beds with closets, and the south guest bedroom opens onto the front porch. The separate study can be closed off for work or online meetings and can then be opened up to serve as a second living area with access to the front porch. It also has a sleeper sofa. In-floor heating means the house stays toasty on the coldest days and you’ll never step onto a cold floor. High speed wireless internet and steaming TV are included.
There's a separate horse stable with an upstairs apartment where our property manager lives. You will never know he is there unless you need him.
We know you will enjoy the peace and solitude of this special place with national forest access just across the road and an abundance of hiking, ATV, and snowmobile trails to explore in the nearby mountains.
Mountain View Ranch will meet your needs perfectly in all seasons. Back at the ranch, a well-plowed and maintained driveway will allow you easy winter access not only to the ski area, but also the famous hot springs and downtown shopping. Summary: This beautiful log home is located a few miles outside of old town Pagosa Springs off of a well kept dirt road. We were greeted by the property manager who gave us some information and made sure we had everything we needed. It was good to know that he lives on the property in case of an issue. This is a glamorous log cabin with beautiful and comfortable furniture and great art throughout the home. It is outfitted with every conceivable need - which makes it feel like it is your own place. Nothing has been neglected. The kitchen has several sets of pretty dishes and glassware, very nice cookware, & the appliances are new and work perfectly. There is ample room to sit at the large counter or at the beautiful kitchen table. We enjoyed playing games & being able to look out the panel of floor-to-ceiling windows and doors at the amazing mountain view. We even watched a fox hunt and & eat its breakfast. The living room has comfortable, yet beautiful, furnishings and a nice TV - not that you will want to watch much TV when you are in such splendid surroundings. The bedrooms and bathrooms are also fabulous. Comfortable beds, plenty of nice towels, & extra sheets and blankets for the pull-out couch in the office (which we used as a fourth bedroom). Beside each bed are Magsafe chargers & extra outlets for other electronics. Everything in this home is top tier. When we return to the area we will definitely stay in this exceptional log cabin home again!
